A
Little History
A
lifetime of memories can be found in my dollhousea set of dishes
like my great-grandmother's, a curio cabinet similar to the one made
by my great-uncle, an antique postal scale because my father loves them,
afghans that my grandmother made for the beds, a Paddington Bear because
he was one of my mother's favorites, and miniature souvenirs of my travels,
which I continue to collect.
My dollhouse
inspired gifts for special friends and family that contained handcrafted
miniature collectibles celebrating their lives and the things we share.
This is
how From Thumbelina's Land was born. MemoriesinMiniature.com
is its web site, featuring domes as unique as the people and events
that they celebrate.
Crafts From
Thumbelina's Land have been seen at the Whitney Museum gift shop,
Neuchatel Chocolates, the New York Exchange for Women's Work, and at
several New York area crafts show. They were also featured in New York
Newsday.
Feeling
Inspired?
As
you look through the pages of domes you will see collages in the background
with pictures of my family and friends. Some photos date back to the
early 1900s. Reproducing old photographs and placing them in a dome
is a special way of sharing history and passing on a legacy that may
currently lie in one person's photo album.
Whether
you choose Ready-Made Themes, Custom-designed
domes, or Shadow boxes adding a
personal touch creates a truly one-of-a-kind gift with its own story.
The domes make wonderful conversation pieces and interesting keepsake
centerpieces at special events. They can even be auctioned at fundraising
events.
Thank you
for visiting. I hope that you will celebrate your Memories
in Miniature!
